12:00am EST - Bunnies, horses, and eggs will soon engulf every Rust server with the start of Easter. Going live in an update today, the Rust Easter event includes egg hunts, costumes, and more!

This update is expected to hit at the regular time (2pm EST / 7pm GMT) and does not force a wipe. Follow @Rustafied for news throughout the day.

Special Easter items

Along with community created Easter skins, some Facepunch created Easter items are expected to hit the item store (primarily the Horse Costumes from the looks of it). We’ll have more details on these once the update goes live.

Easter Egg Hunts

Easter egg hunts return this year! Every in-game day kicks off a 3-minute collection frenzy where all server players scramble to gather as many eggs as possible. The top 3 collectors score special reward eggs for their basket-filling skills.

Just like Xmas presents and Halloween candy bags, Easter brings collectible eggs that can be gathered, upgraded, and cracked open for loot. Here's a breakdown of the different egg types and their potential rewards.

Egg hunt helpers

There are a couple special Easter items which will help you get on the leaderboard for any egg hunt. The Egg Basket lets you instantly snag eggs with a left click instead of waiting seconds per pickup like basket-less players.

For spotting eggs from greater distances, equip Bunny Ears, Onesie, Nest Hat, or this year's new Horse Costume. All provide Egg Vision, letting you spot those colorful prizes long before your competition.
